Bio:
Junior college transfer who started one season at Texas A&M. Caught 30 passes for 694 yards and six touchdowns in 2017.
Pos:
Athletic receiver prospect with good size and big upside. Fluidly releases off the line of scrimmage, shows quickness and works to make himself an available target. Extends his hands to make receptions away from his frame, keeps plays in bounds after the catch and consistently picks up positive yardage. Displays good hand-eye coordination, nicely adjusts to errant throws and effortlessly makes deep catches at full speed. Plays to his 40 time, shows flexibility and effectively follows blocks after the catch.
Neg:
Does not show great timing and anticipation. Struggles in battles. Route running is still a bit raw.
Analysis:
Ratley was an afterthought in the scouting community for most of last season but caught fire late in the year and heads towards the draft as a potential late-round pick. He’s a solid pass catcher, a good athlete and a well-sized receiver who will play at the next level if properly coached and given time to develop.
