Two-year starter at left guard who earned Second Team All-Pac-12 honors in 2016. Named Honorable Mention All-Pac-12 in 2015 after starting 13 of 14 games. Started twice at left guard and twice at right guard as a true freshman in 2014.
Large, powerful offensive lineman who consistently controls opponents. Sets with a wide base, blocks with a nasty attitude and can be a devastating force. Quickly sets up off the snap, explodes into blocks and shows a large degree of quickness in his game. Stays square, plays with great power and anchors in pass protection or drives opponents off the line as a run blocker. Jolts opponents with tremendous hand punch and does not give up an inch of space. Competes throughout the action, keeps his head on a swivel and works well with linemates.
Really doesn’t sink his butt at the line of scrimmage. Heavy-footed, lacks the ability to slide in space and is ineffective in motion. Tested poorly during the combine.
Mama was a dominant college lineman who possesses the size and skill to do the same at the next level. He’s a marginal athlete with scheme limitations, but in the right system Mama could quickly break into the starting lineup.
