Bio:
Two-year starter who missed most of the 2015 season due to a hamstring injury and received a medical hardship waiver. Led Minnesota with 83 tackles in 2016, including five for loss, and added two interceptions and four pass breakups. Made 61 tackles (3.5 for loss) with two interceptions and five PBUs as a junior in 2014.
Pos:
Tough, productive safety with speed limitations. Instinctive, active and shows good recognition. Keeps the action in front of him, works well with cornerbacks and shows aggressiveness. Slides off blocks, constantly finds his way to the action and is a secure tackler.
Neg:
Lacks long speed, lateral range and a burst to the action. Cannot recover to make plays. Exploited throughout Shrine Game practices.
Analysis:
Travis grades high in the areas of instincts and intensity, but his lack of pure speed is a red flag.
