Bio:
Two-year starter who posted 50 tackles (13 for loss), 4.5 sacks and 12 quarterback hurries in 2016. Broke out as a junior with 54 tackles (14.5 for loss), seven sacks, two forced fumbles and two pass breakups. Started four games as a sophomore in 2014, making 29 tackles (six for loss) with 4.5 sacks.
Pos:
Productive and nasty college defensive lineman overshadowed by his headlining teammate. Athletic, fluid and smooth moving about the field. Chases down the line of scrimmage to make plays in pursuit, shows quickness if asked to twist or stunt and easily moves to any direction in the field. Plays with lean, uses his hands to protect himself and shows a variety of moves getting off blocks. Fast off the edge, immediately alters his angle of attack and nicely redirects to the ball handler.
Neg:
Easily out-positioned by larger opponents or offensive tackles. Not stout defending the run. Occasionally pins his ears back, rushes up the field and lets ball carriers run by.
Analysis:
Despite taking a backseat to teammate Myles Garrett, Hall is a legitimate NFL prospect who will do well in a four-man line once he adds bulk to his frame and improves his playing strength.
