Bio:
Four-year starter who earned Second Team All-Big Ten honors and led Penn State with 857 receiving yards, tied for the team lead with nine touchdown receptions and caught 53 passes in 2017. Made 34 catches for 506 yards and one score as a junior. Posted 45 receptions for 580 yards and six TDs in 2015. Named Honorable Mention All-Big Ten and led the conference with 82 receptions as a true freshman, adding 899 receiving yards and two scores.
Pos:
Large possession receiver who looked terrific in the lead-up to the draft. Plays with excellent balance and body control, easily adjusts to errant throws and gets down to scoop low passes. Sells routes, displays tremendous focus and tracks the pass in the air. Keeps his eyes on the ball and effectively times receptions. Wins out for contested passes, makes difficult receptions in a crowd and consistently snatches passes away from his frame. Easily makes over-the-shoulder receptions downfield without breaking stride. Gives effort blocking and gets results.
Neg:
One-speed receiver with limited quickness. Takes a while to get going and does not show burst. Occasionally lets easy passes slip through his hands.
Analysis:
Hamilton was graded as a free-agent prospect by scouts entering the season but after a terrific senior campaign, he looked outstanding during practices for the Shrine Game and Senior Bowl. He’s a possession wideout who will do well on underneath routes and in the end zone on Sundays and does the little things well.
