Bio:
First-year starter who was named MEC Offensive Player of the Year and led the conference with 3,532 passing yards and 40 passing touchdowns while completing 63.2 percent of his passes and throwing four interceptions in 2017. Combined to complete 54 of 74 passes for 1,005 yards and six scores during his sophomore and junior seasons.
Pos:
Strong-armed pocket passer who comes off a terrific campaign. Patient, remains poised under the rush and steps up to avoid defenders. Does not get rattled, possesses a next-level arm and gets the ball through tight windows. Big enough and strong enough to get the ball away with defenders draped on him. Puts touch on throws when necessary, delivers passes with speed and flashes the ability to beautifully place the ball where only his receiver can make the catch.
Neg:
Spotty accuracy and inconsistent pass placement. Dominated for just a single season at the small-school level.
Analysis:
Jessop possesses the size and arm strength to play at the next level and is a solid developmental quarterback who should be kept on a practice squad this fall.
