Bio:
Three-year starter who earned First Team All-MIAA honors as both a junior and a senior. Received Third Team All-MIAA honors after his sophomore season. Was the 2015 MIAA Co-Defensive Player of the Year. Received First Team AFCA National Division II All-America honors after finishing with 55 tackles, 15.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery In 2016.
Pos:
Explosive small-school defender who plays with a nasty attitude. Fires off the snap with an explosive first step and displays tremendous quickness and intensity in his game. Chases the action hard, easily changes direction and immediately alters his angle of attack. Plays with consistent pad level, works his hands throughout the action and protects himself. Keeps his feet moving, slides off blocks and makes plays up the field or down the line of scrimmage.
Neg:
Occasionally stands over tackle, where he is marginally effective. Lacks overall playing strength and gets handled by opponents. Average speed.
Analysis:
Bevins was very productive on the college level and was a disruptive force who constantly harassed opposing quarterbacks. He offers possibilities as a rotational defensive end in a 4-3 alignment, and his pass-rushing skills are attractive.
