Bio:
First-year starter at right tackle who transitioned from tight end to the offensive line after gaining 30 before his junior season.
Pos:
Former tight end who comes with tremendous upside. Plays with proper knee bend, gets leverage on opponents and moves well about the field. Adjusts to oncoming defenders, gets his hands into opponents and knocks them from their angles of attack. Moves well on his feet, can slide off the edge and makes proper use of angles. Explosive at the point and shows quickness.
Neg:
Shows limited strength in his lower body, can be overrun in pass protection and does not get movement as a run blocker. Sets with a narrow base and must properly place his hands into defenders more consistently.
Analysis:
After transitioning from tight end to the offensive line in 2016, Boozer took hold of the starting right tackle job for Temple last year and improved almost weekly. He offers big upside and although he’s not yet NFL-ready, Boozer is a developmental prospect who should definitely be kept on a practice squad this fall.
