Bio:
Two-year starter at right tackle who returned to the field in 2016 after he was granted a medical redshirt and sixth season of eligibility due to a season-ending injury in 2015. Named First Team All-Conference USA in 2014 and Second Team All-Conference USA in 2013 after starting the season as a backup.
Pos:
College tackle best in a small area. Quickly sets up off the snap, makes effective use of angles and keeps his feet moving. Strong, anchors at the point or turns defenders from the play. Explosive, massive and plays through the whistle.
Neg:
Rumbles around the field and isn’t light on his feet. Lacks footwork off the edge and lateral blocking range. Gets tall in his stance and does not block with leverage.
Analysis:
Van Horn is a size prospect with next-level playing strength yet is a limited athlete and an offensive lineman who blocks with poor fundamentals.
