Bio:
First-year starter who was named Honorable Mention All-Big Ten and made 45 tackles with one interception, two forced fumbles and 12 pass breakups as a senior. Started two games and posted 31 tackles, one interception and six PBUs in 2016. Combined for 26 tackles, one interception and four pass breakups during his first two seasons at Penn State.
Pos:
Nice-sized corner who has flashed cover skills throughout his career. Rarely challenged by opponents, effectively reads and diagnoses the action and works hard to get off blocks and make plays. Quick flipping his hips off the line, gets his head back around to locate passes in the air and possesses fluid footwork moving in any direction.
Neg:
Does not always play to his size and loses out to bigger receivers. Lacks the great burst out of his plant and does not show overall closing speed. Mistimes pass defenses on occasion.
Analysis:
Campbell is a good-looking athlete who flashed cover skills but needs a lot more. He offers possibilities in man or zone coverage but must improve almost every aspect of his game before he will be able to step onto an NFL field.
