Two-year starter named First Team All-Big Team as a senior after making 39 tackles (8.5 for loss) with 5.5 sacks. Earned Third Team All-Big Ten honors in 2015, posting 43 tackles (14.5 for loss) and 6.5 sacks. Academic All-Big Ten as both a junior and a senior.
Productive and underrated lineman with a big upside. Relentless, stays with the action and is constantly around the ball making positive plays. Plays with proper pad level, gets leverage on opponents and is rarely off his feet. Effectively uses his hands, stays balanced and defeats blocks. Disruptive force who shows good change of direction and the ability to make plays behind the line of scrimmage. Stout defending the run and shows ability as a pass rusher.
Must develop more moves getting off blocks. Slow disengaging from opponents at the point of attack.
In our opinion, Wormley is one of the more underrated defensive line prospects in this year’s draft. He offers the ability to play in multiple systems and at multiple positions along the defensive line. He’s not flashy, but he’s consistent and does the little things well.
