Bio:
Two-year starter who was named Honorable Mention All-Big Ten and made 56 tackles (five for loss) in 2017 despite moving from outside linebacker to inside linebacker and missing three games with a lower-body injury. Recorded 69 tackles (4.5 for loss) and four pass breakups as a junior. Combined to make 28 tackles with one sack during his first two seasons with the Buckeyes.
Pos:
Tough, efficient linebacker with an underrated game. Instinctive, remains disciplined with assignments and does not bite on ball fakes. Fluid scraping laterally, displays good range and quickly gets out to the flanks in pursuit of the action. Plays with a nasty attitude and attacks assignments. Does not bite on ball fakes, gets depth on pass drops and fires upfield to fill gaps against the run. Effectively makes plays in space against the run and the pass. Flies around the action and sacrifices his body to make tackles.
Neg:
Lack of height is an issue and causes mismatches against tight ends. Shows some stiffness in his game.
Analysis:
Worley is a nasty linebacker who is well-versed in all areas of the position and is a prospect who does not get the credit he deserves. He has the tools and intelligence to develop into a starter in the right system and will ultimately be underdrafted this April.
