Pos:
Explosive, downhill safety most effective between the numbers. Keeps the action in front of him, displays decent instincts and hits hard. Plays with a nasty attitude and aggressively goes after ball carriers to defend the run. Displays solid ball skills in a small area, tracks the pass in the air and shows a good move to the throw. Gets vertical and competes to defend the pass. Possesses good hands for the interception. Efficient and takes proper angles to the action. Solid special-teams player who is one of the first men down the field on coverage units.
Neg:
Does not show great range and is slow to the sidelines. Lacks top lateral speed and shows average closing burst.
Analysis:
Johnson entered the season graded as a potential fourth-round selection, but he really didn’t live up to expectations and will likely go undrafted. He possesses enough skill to line up as a traditional strong safety, but it's Johnson's special-teams mentality that will help him earn a roster spot at the next level.
