Two-year starter who ranked second in the Big Ten with 11 touchdown catches in 2016, making 59 receptions for 982 yards. Named Third Team All-Big Ten as a junior after posting 69 receptions for 1,101 yards and five scores, becoming the third receiver in Penn State history to eclipse 1,000 yards in a season. Earned Big Ten All-Freshman Team honors with 25 catches for 321 yards and two touchdowns in 2014.
Productive college receiver with a next-level game. Plays with terrific balance and body control as well as hand-eye coordination. Effectively uses the sidelines, shields defenders with his frame and takes a big hit yet holds onto the throw. Extends his hands making the reception away from his frame, easily makes the catch on crossing patterns and always works to make himself an available target. Tracks the pass in the air, shows a sense of timing and gets vertical over defenders then competes to come away with the tough grab. Smooth, adjusts or contorts in midair and snatches the ball from the air. Effective downfield blocker.
Not a true deep threat and lacks the second gear. Average size for possession wideout.
Godwin was very productive the three seasons he started at Penn State and offers next-level potential as a third receiver that can lineup in the slot or on the flanks.
