Bio:
Junior college transfer who started two seasons at Oklahoma State. Named Honorable Mention All-Big 12 in 2016 after rushing 82 times for 559 yards and nine touchdowns in nine games. Missed the first four games of the season with a hand injury. Led the Cowboys in rushing in 2015 with 517 yards and four touchdowns on 131 carries.
Pos:
Athletic running back with an underrated game. Displays vision, effectively uses blocks and finds the running lanes. Runs with an explosive style, has a burst through the hole and has good strength. Runs north and south, keeps his feet moving and falls forward when tackled. Solid pass catcher out of the backfield who adjusts to the errant throw and making the reception in stride.
Neg:
Not a truly creative ball carrier who’s going to make something out of nothing. Shows indecision in his game. Won’t pick up big chunks of yardage off initial contact.
Analysis:
Carson is an explosive ball carrier with possibilities as a rotational back at the next level. He’d be effective as a situational runner or pass catcher out of the backfield.
