Bio:
Three-year starter who made 11 tackles and missed six games with a knee injury in 2017. Named Honorable Mention All-Big Ten and recorded 22 tackles, 1.5 sacks and four pass breakups as a junior. Posted 41 tackles (five for loss) and one sack in 2015. Started seven games and made 21 tackles with 1.5 sacks as a redshirt freshman.
Pos:
Explosive, hard-working defensive lineman with an underrated game. Displays good movement skills and easily changes direction. Shows speed laterally and the ability to make plays in space. Fierce, fires off the snap with an explosive first step and works his hands to protect himself. Fights to get off blocks, gives a lot of effort and plays tough, controlled football.
Neg:
Lacks bulk and easily gets out-positioned from the action by a single opponent. Comes off a disappointing senior season and has watched his productivity drop the past three years.
Analysis:
Obasih is a hard-working defensive lineman who gets the most from his ability and offers possibilities as a three-technique tackle or a one-gap interior lineman if he gets his game back on track.
