Bio:
One-year starter who suffered a concussion in Oklahoma’s fourth game of the 2016 season and subsequently left the team in November to begin training for the NFL Draft. Named Second Team All-Big 12 in 2015, making 36 tackles (10 for loss) with six sacks and one forced fumble. Missed five games as a redshirt freshman due to a knee injury and finished the 2014 season with 10 tackles.
Pos:
Athletic and explosive defensive tackle that forces the action when he wants to. Powerful, displays total body strength and can be an overwhelming force, destroying one-on-one blocking. Bends his knees, effectively uses his hands to protect himself and is tough to move off the point. Moves well in all directions and gets down the line of scrimmage and outside the box chasing the action.
Neg:
All too often gives half-hearted efforts. Seems like he’s going half-speed at times. Easily neutralized at the point of attack. More of a gap occupier rather than a playmaker.
Analysis:
When focused and on his game, Walker is a disruptive force that creates opportunities for teammates. To date he’s been a streaky defender that hasn’t always played up to his level of ability, and he enters the draft with a lot of risk.
