Bio:
Three-year starter who earned First Team All-Ivy honors and led the conference with a 73.2 percent completion rate, 3,474 passing yards and 29 passing touchdowns as a senior. Named Second Team All-Ivy and completed 61.8 percent of his passes for 1,741 yards, six touchdowns and six interceptions in 2016. Posted a 57.2 percent completion rate and threw for 2,295 yards, eight TDs and seven picks as a sophomore. Missed the entire 2014 season due to a shoulder injury.
Pos:
Strong-armed passer who needs work on his accuracy and timing. Patient, sees the field and stands in against the rush. Remains poised, throws with an over-the-top delivery and possesses the arm strength to make all the throws. Gets passes through tight windows, loses nothing throwing on the move and flashes the ability to make some beautiful passes. Sells ball fakes, locates the open wideout and effectively commands the offense.
Neg:
Slow to pull the trigger. Receivers are consistently waiting on the ball and passes are late arriving. Erratic with his accuracy and makes pass catchers work hard to come away with the throw.
Analysis:
Kanoff possesses the size and arm strength to play at the next level but needs a bit of work on his mechanics. Unlikely to be selected in the draft’s seven rounds, he’s definitely worth keeping on a practice squad for future development.
