Bio:
Three-year starter who earned First Team All-SEC honors and led Alabama with 63 receptions and 967 yards while scoring five touchdowns as a junior. Named Second Team All-SEC in 2015 and 2016. Caught a team-high 72 passes for 769 yards and seven TDs as a sophomore. Led the Crimson Tide in receiving as a true freshman with an SEC-high 89 receptions for 1,045 yards and seven scores.
Pos:
Reliable pass catcher with average size and speed. Displays tremendous quickness, fires off the snap and sells routes. Explodes into breaks, easily separates from opponents and extends his hands to snatch the ball from the air. Lays out or extends for difficult receptions, displays both soft and strong hands and grabs the ball from the air in all types of contorted positions. Runs disciplined routes and plays with excellent balance and body control. Uses the sidelines well, knows where he is on the field and reads the defense to find the open spot on the field. Shifty, consistently separates from defenders and possesses outstanding hand-eye coordination. Keeps opponents back on their heels. Nicely adjusts to errant throws and makes receptions in stride.
Neg:
Has a thin build and loses out in battles. Not a physical receiver. Lacks deep burst and downfield speed.
Analysis:
Ridley is a terrific pass catcher with some physical limitations that may prevent him from being a No. 1 at the next level. Regardless, he has all the tools necessary to line up as a starter on Sundays.
