Named Third Team All-ACC and Freshman All-American in 2014 after posting 45 receptions for 526 yards and six touchdowns.
Tall, athletic pass catcher who was moderately productive throughout his college career. Agile, plays with excellent body control and makes some amazing receptions on occasion. Fights with his hands to separate from opponents, uses his frame to shield defenders and gets vertical to high-point the pass. Lays out for the difficult catch, nicely adjusts to the errant throw and looks the ball into his hands. Offers the quarterback a large target, makes the reception away from his frame and takes a pounding but holds onto the ball. Flashes soft and strong hands with the ability to pull the ball from the air.
Loses focus and concentration. Does not always come away with the difficult reception as he should. Occasionally loses out in battles.
Though Hodges has shown inconsistency on the college level, he possesses the size, growth potential and general athleticism to line up as a move tight end at the next level. He also displays the playing speed to consistently split the seam and create mismatches in the secondary. If he focuses on improving the details of his position, Hodges will have a long and productive NFL career.
