Bio:
Two-year starter who earned Second Team All-AAC honors in 2017 after leading the Bulls with seven sacks, finishing second on the team with 13 tackles for loss and posting 38 tackles. Made 33 tackles (eight for loss) and tied for the team lead with six sacks as a junior. Tallied five sacks as a rotational lineman in 2015 to again tie for the team lead.
Pos:
Explosive, hard-working defensive tackle with an underrated game. Fires off the snap with a great first step, shows a lot of quickness and plays with outstanding pad level. Resilient and works his hands. Keeps his feet moving and holds his ground against blocks. Flashes power and the ability to split double-team blocks. Moves laterally outside the box, nicely redirects to the ball carrier and plays hard.
Neg:
Mostly a first-step lineman who must beat blockers off the snap. Smothered at the point by blocks. Can be a liability against the run.
Analysis:
Hector entered the year ignored by scouts but was productive during his senior campaign and moves towards the draft as a priority free agent who could line up as a three-technique tackle at the next level.
