Bio:
Two-year starter named First Team All-Mountain West after ranking second in the conference with 1,860 rushing yards and 22 touchdowns. Earned Second Team All-Mountain West honors as a sophomore after again ranking second in the conference in rushing yards with 1,631 on 281 carries and scoring six touchdowns. Led Wyoming in rushing as a part-time starter in 2014, carrying 145 times for 796 yards and seven TDs.
Pos:
Strong, grind-it-out ball carrier best between the tackles. Waits for blocks to develop, quickly locates the open lanes and has a burst through the hole. Strong, does not go down without a fight and picks up a lot of yardage off initial contact then falls forward when tackled. Punishing ball carrier who drives his shoulders through defenders, quickly gets back to balance off the initial hit and continues running north and south. Keeps his feet moving, grinds it out and effectively picks up blocking assignments.
Neg:
One-speed, one-cut ball carrier. Must improve his blocking vision. Runs with an upright style and makes himself an easy target for opponents. Average pass catcher out of the backfield.
Analysis:
Hill was a productive ball carrier for Wyoming and is a power back who must play in a system which keeps him between the tackles. His upright style may be a killer at the next level, but Hill could flourish as a short-yardage specialist in the right system.
