Bio:
Three-year starter who caught 18 passes for 212 yards and one touchdown in 2016. Earned First Team All-Mountain West honors as a junior after setting career and team highs with 48 catches for 586 yards and six touchdowns. Made four starts in 2014 and posted 19 receptions for 182 yards and one touchdown. Named Honorable Mention All-Mountain West as a redshirt freshman, catching 27 passes for 427 yards and two scores.
Pos:
Relatively athletic move tight end prospect with a minimal production on the college level. Bends his knees, stays square as a blocker and plays with solid fundamentals. Fluid releasing off the line into pass routes, plays to his 40 time and nicely settles into the open spot of the field. Extends his hands snatching the pass away from his frame and makes the difficult catch in a crowd.
Neg:
Has a thin build and looks almost like a possession receiver rather than a tight end. Possesses poor blocking strength and rarely gets movement.
Analysis:
Freeman is a solid developmental prospect with enough ability to line up as a move tight end at the next level, but he needs time to improve his game and playing strength.
