Bio:
Three-year starter who earned First Team All-MEC honors as both a junior and a senior. Received First Team D2Football.com All-America honors in 2016 after making 99 receptions for 1,580 yards and 22 touchdowns. Was awarded Second Team All-MEC honors his sophomore season.
Pos:
Ultra-productive small-school receiver who projects as a move tight end for the next level. Physical, fights with his hands to separate from opponents and comes back to the ball. Uses his frame to shield away defenders and for the most part extends and makes the reception away from his frame. Uses the sidelines well, plays with body control and offers an imposing target. Displays a short burst of speed, possesses solid hand-eye coordination and is tough to bring down running after the catch. Gives effort blocking downfield.
Neg:
Gets lazy when the play is away from him. Lacks quickness and will struggle separating at the next level. Unnecessarily lets the pass get inside him on occasion.
Analysis:
Brown was a dominant small-school receiver who did a solid job during Shrine Game practice. He lacks the natural quickness and route-running skills to stay at wideout but offers the size and pass-catching ability to line up as a move tight end.
