Pos:
Athletic interior lineman with nice size and a developing game. Strong in his lower body, plays with outstanding pad level and leverage and holds the point of attack. Focused on by opponents and attracts double-team blocks. Powerful and gets push up the field. Effectively fights with his hands, keeps his feet moving and moves well in every direction. Intense and goes hard.
Neg:
Lacks great first-step quickness. Shows stiffness in his game. Must develop more moves to get off blocks.
Analysis:
Nichols offers a nice combination of size, athleticism and upside potential. He's a developmental prospect as a defensive tackle in a 4-3 alignment and should be given late-round consideration.
