Three-year starter named Second Team All-Big Ten as a senior. Started seven games at left tackle after spending his entire junior season at guard. First collegiate start as a sophomore was at right tackle.
Productive college blocker best in a small area. Explosive, displays strength at the point of attack and sets with a wide base. Gets his hands into defenders steering them from the action and keeps his feet moving throughout the play. Makes good use of angles, stays square and engulfs opponents.
Tends to fall off blocks and rarely finishes. Lacks top footwork and overall blocking range. Ineffective blocking in motion and not fluid if asked to pull across the line of scrimmage.
Braden was a terrific college lineman who got the most from his ability but has athletic limitations. The versatility to be used at several offensive line spots plus his durability will open doors for him at the next level as an inexpensive backup.
