Bio:
Two-year starter named Third Team All-American in 2016 after leading Clemson with 131 tackles, including 11.5 for loss, and recording four sacks. Recipient of the Jack Lambert Award as the nation’s top linebacker. Earned First Team All-ACC honors as a junior when he ranked second on the team with 138 tackles (eight for loss) and three forced fumbles, adding 3.5 sacks and a team-high 29 quarterback pressures.
Pos:
Tough, nasty run-defending linebacker best as a two-down defender. Instinctive, fires up the field and stacks well against the run. Forceful on the blitz, sells out to make plays and sacrifices his body to stop ball handlers. Remains disciplined with assignments, shows good change of direction and pursues well laterally.
Neg:
Struggles in coverage, does a lot of face-guarding and possesses poor ball skills. Lacks lateral speed in pursuit.
Analysis:
Boulware is a limited athlete who leads by example and gets the most from his ability. Though he has physical limitations, he could be a good addition on the inside of a 3-4 alignment and on special teams.
