Began his senior season as Wisconsin’s starting quarterback before losing his job and regaining it after Alex Hornibrook’s injury. Threw for 1,245 yards, five touchdowns and three interceptions in 2016 after attempting 51 passes and throwing four touchdowns in his first three seasons combined.
Moderately productive college quarterback who was a part-time player at Wisconsin. Athletic, easily gets outside the pocket and makes the throw on the move. Effectively locates the safety, knows where his receivers are on the field and locates the open target. Follows through over his top foot. Left-handed passer.
Does not have a fluid throwing motion. Lacks a quick release. Was never a consistent starter on the college level.
Houston possesses good size as well as upside but needs a lot of development and work before he’ll ever be NFL-ready.
