Bio:
Four-year starter at tackle who was named First Team All-Mountain West after playing left tackle in 2017 and received an invitation to the Senior Bowl. Earned Second Team All-Mountain West honors and started all 12 games at right tackle as a junior. Named Honorable Mention All-Mountain West and made 12 starts at left tackle in 2015. Started 12 games at left tackle as a redshirt freshman.
Pos:
Efficient, methodical blocker who plays with tremendous fundamentals. Sets with a wide base, works to bend his knees and stays square. Explosive at the point, fires off the snap and consistently seals opponents from the action. Very effective with his hands, jolts defenders with violent punch and knocks them from their angles of attack. Keeps his feet moving, makes great use of angles and rarely gets beaten by opponents. Works well with linemates and shows great awareness.
Neg:
Displays some stiffness in his game. Lacks great lateral range. More of a position blocker and not a true mauler.
Analysis:
Corbett is not a flashy blocker but is an efficient, methodical lineman who consistently gets the job done. He projects to either guard or center at the next level and is one of the more underrated interior linemen in this year’s draft, and he will quickly start in the right system.
