Three-year starter who was named an All-American in 2015, ranking fourth in the nation with 20.5 tackles for loss and leading Northwestern with 122 tackles. Athletic and explosive linebacker with the ability to develop into a three down defender. Quick in all’s actions, displays terrific range and covers a large area on the field. Effectively uses his hands, easily redirects to ball handlers or immediately alters his angle of attack. Physical, forceful on the blitz and explodes up the field filling gaps in run defense. Flows well laterally showing speed out to the flanks, possesses a terrific head for the ball and quick locating the action. Runs with tight ends across the field, has a quick first step to the play and lays it on the line.
Short and may struggle in coverage matchups. Gets confused in coverage on occasion. Not a secure tackler. Occasionally over pursues the action.
Walker has been a force since his freshman season and is an explosive athlete that could start on the inside of a 34 alignment once he completes his game.
