Pos:
Swift, explosive receiver who releases smoothly off the line, fires into routes and stays low on exit. Disciplined route runner. Consistently finds the open spot in the defense, finds ways to make himself an available target and displays outstanding hand-eye coordination. Extends his hands, adjusts to the errant throw and makes the reception away from his frame. Nicely tracks the pass in the air and shows incredible instincts and great receiving skills. Uses his frame to protect the pass, stays in bounds and gives effort after the catch.
Neg:
Lack of size limits him. Struggles in battles. Gives effort as a blocker but does not get results. Was inconsistent during Senior Bowl practices. Ran a blistering 40 time at the combine but does not translate that speed onto the field.
Analysis:
Isabella is a physically gifted athlete with great receiving skills, and he could line up in the slot or outside as well as return punts on Sundays. He must learn to play to his 40 time, but his football instincts, intelligence and hard-working style will appeal to a number of teams in this year’s draft.
