Two-year starter who played football for his final two years after transitioning from basketball. Finished his career with 28 receptions for 390 yards and nine touchdowns. Was originally a football walk-on at Oregon State, but decided to transfer to Western Oregon to play basketball.
Incredibly athletic tight end prospect who played four years of college basketball. Fluid, smooth and easily adjusts to the errant throw. Quickly releases into pass routes, finds the clearing in the field and uses his hands to separate from defenders. Easily adjusts to the errant throw, looks the ball into his hands and makes the reception in stride. Blocks with excellent leverage, sinks his butt at the line of scrimmage and plays with proper pad level. Quick out to the second level, easily redirects to linebackers and can hit a moving target. Has a large frame with room the grow.
Lacks footwork and balance in pass protection. Still very rough around the edges.
Avgi is a physical specimen with limited football experience, but he showed flashes of great potential on the gridiron. Unlikely to be selected during the draft’s seven rounds, he will be scooped up once the draft is over and signed to a practice squad to further develop his potential.
