Two-year starter who started 28 career games. Named Second Team All-Big Ten as a senior after posting 57 receptions for 862 yards and seven touchdowns. Earned Honorable Mention All-Big Ten as a junior with 58 receptions for 727 yards and five scores.
Athletic receiver who displayed a lot of progress in his game last season. Displays terrific focus, concentration and timing and tracks the pass in the air. Knows where he is on the field, uses his frame to shield defenders and displays strong hands with the ability to snatch fastballs from the air. Easily adjusts to the errant throw and reaches back to grab the pass behind him. Follows the quarterback across the field to make himself an available target, effectively follows blocks running after the catch and is mostly a consistent hands catcher. Shows a degree of quickness in his overall game.
Must improve his downfield blocking. Lacks a quick release off the line, occasionally lets the ball get inside him and must improve his hand-eye coordination. Lacks deep speed and a second gear.
Darboh came into the season with solid grades from scouts and showed a large degree of improvement in his game. He’s a long way from being the complete package, but his size and upside potential will make him an enticing selection on the draft’s second day.
