Bio:
Two-year starter who was named to the Doak Walker Award Preseason watch list going into 2016. Earned Second Team College Sports Madness All-America honors as a senior after lining up at fullback. Earned First Team Phil Steele All-Independent honors after his junior season. Finished his career with 259 attempts for 1,310 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Pos:
Athletic lead-blocking fullback with a one-dimensional game. Plays with outstanding knee bend, moves well for a bigger fullback and shows explosiveness at the point. Displays a degree of quickness in his game, accelerates into blocks and nicely redirects to defenders, knocking opponents from their angles of attack. Plays with a punishing style, drives forward carrying the ball and picks up yardage off initial contact.
Neg:
Coming off a very disappointing senior campaign. Ineffective as a short-yardage ball carrier last year. Ducks his head and ends up missing blocks. Redshirted in 2010 before going on a Mormon Mission. Overaged.
Analysis:
Brown possesses next-level size and speed and flashed ability as a junior but is coming off a disappointing season. At the top of his game he has the size and skill to be a triple-threat fullback, but off the 2016 film he barely grades as a street free agent.
