Bio:
Four-year starter at center who started 42 career games. Missed two games as a sophomore with a high ankle sprain. Suffered a preseason knee injury before his redshirt freshman season but played in all 13 games.
Pos:
Hard-working center who gets the most from his ability. Stays square and blocks with tremendous fundamentals. Terrific position blocker who seals defenders from the action. Quickly sets up off the snap, keeps his feet moving and works well with teammates. Effective with shotgun snaps and fires into blocks. Very effective with his hands, correctly places them into opponents and works them throughout the action.
Neg:
Lacks size, bulk and strength at the point of attack. Struggles to hold the point against bigger opponents and gets run over.
Analysis:
Knott lacks great size and athleticism for the next level but is efficient in many areas of the center position and could grab hold of a roster spot as an inexpensive backup.
